Policy and Procedures

PETacular Pet Services, LLC is a fully licensed and insured company that provides professional pet care services to select areas of Prince William County.  To better serve you please take a look at our policies and procedures.

Please make sure to plan ahead for all your pet care services to ensure the dates you require. We require an in-home consultation for all new clients.

If you are a new client and wish to make a reservation for a consultation/service please feel free to contact us by phone, email or online form.  We will contact you within 24 hours to arrange your free consultation.  Please allow at least 30 minutes for the initial consultation (meet and greet). 

If you are a returning client please feel free to call or email us to make your reservation for service.  There is no need for an in-home consultation.  We will already have all your forms on file (client profile, pet profile, vet authorization, and service agreement.)  The only exception would be if you’ve added a new pet. .  It is important that we meet your new family member.

Reservation Confirmation

Please know that your voicemail or email request require a confirmation call from PETacular Pet Services, LLC to acknowledge your services has been received and accepted.  This ensures that we won’t miss your request and your pets will receive the necessary care from us.  Once your reservation is confirmed and the service request is accepted you will receive an email or phone call reconfirming your services information (dates, times, ect…) are still correct.  Please acknowledge our email or phone call before you leave town to ensure your pet’s care is provided as needed


A free in-home consultation (meet and greet) is provided for all new clients prior to the start of your service.  This allows PETacular Pet Services, LLC to meet with you to answer any and all questions you may have so we can customize our services to provide the best care possible for your pet(s).  It also enables us to get to know your pet and for your pet to familiarize themselves with us so we can provide them a more stress free visit.  We will also collect the forms related to your pets care.  (You will be emailed these forms in advance so you can fill them out ahead of time).  This way we can discuss your pet’s needs, routines and anything else that is essential to your pet’s wellbeing while under our care.  If you decide to book a service after the consultation a PETacular Pet representative will collect a key and make arrangements for payment.  Subsequent consultations should your service needs change (i.e - you added a new furry family member) will be charged a mini visit fee of $15.


PETacular Pet Services, LLC will collect your house key after the service agreement is signed at the initial consultation.   Please consider allowing PETacular Pet Services to keep your key for ease of future services.  In the event you would like your key back after services have been provided there will be a $10 return fee to cover the added trip.

Delayed Return

In the event your return is delayed it is imperative that you contact PETacular Pet Services, LLC to extend your pets care.  We need to speak with you directly any time your service request is changed.

We’re Back

We ask that you call or email us upon returning home so we can turn the care of your pet back over to you.  If we do not hear from you additional trips to ensure your pet is receiving the care they need will be added to your bill.

Services Provided

We offer Daily Mid-day Walks and Pet Sitting Services.

Dog Walking Rates:   The below pricing rates are for Monday – Friday mid-day walks between the hours or 8:00a.m and 3:30p.m. (excluding holidays).  Walks outside of the mid-day timeframe are available upon request. 

Note:  Add $2 to below rates for walks between the hours of  4p.m. and 6p.m.

Our walks help to take care of all your pets needs whether it’s a quick potty break, extended walk for exercise, a little playtime in the backyard or a lot of TLC – PETacular Pet Services, LLC provides all the best pet solutions for your family.

Pet Sitting

We pet sit for dogs, cats, birds, fish, small animals and exotics.  There is a minimum $18 fee for a once daily visit (20 to 30min).

Visits include: walks, feedings, fresh water, playtime, mail/newspaper retrieval, taking trash cans out, indoor plant watering (up to 10 plants) , cat litter maintenance (when applicable).  Other client requests can be discussed on a case by case basis at the initial consultation.

  Full Service (Vacation/Long Weekend) Pet Sitting


  • 1 to 2 pet(s) $15 per visit for 3 to 4 (20 to 30 min) visits a day
  • 1 to 2 pet(s) $18 per visit for 1 to 2 (20 to 30 min) visits a day


  • Add $2 for each additional pet


 Aggressive Animals

 We reserve the right to deny service to any dog showing aggressive behavior.  This is to safeguard our employees.  There will be no charge for the service should it unfortunately be decided that we cannot care for your treasured pet due to aggressive or dangerous behavior.

Holiday Visits

These visits occur only on major holidays and are subject to the following charges:

A $10 per holiday surcharge applies to Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

A $15 per holiday surcharge applies to New Years Eve,  New Years Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve,  and Christmas Day

Please plan ahead during the holidays as these days book quickly…


Payments:  We accept Cash and Checks.  There is a $25 returned check fee.  Payment is due in full prior to or at the start of all services.  Should your pet require any additional services during our scheduled visit(s) then we will bill you the additional charges.  We reserve the right to discontinue services for payments not received in a timely manner.  Thank you for your understanding.

Cancellation Policy

Peak Time Service Cancellation Guidelines:

Walks/Pet Sits that fall over Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer Break (which runs from Memorial Day thru Labor Day), Thanksgiving Week, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day are considered “Peak Time” and are subject to the below cancellation guidelines…  All other pet sitting/mid-day walks are considered Non-Peak Time.

  • Midday Dog Walks (Peak Time) – If cancellations are made less than 3 days in advance, clients are charged a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the visit walk rate.  Our regular midday clients (those with reoccurring visits every week) will receive one “free” cancellation a month if the cancellation is made less than 3 days in advance providing the cancellation is made by 9pm the day prior to your scheduled walk.   Walks that are cancelled the day of services after 8am will be charged 100% of the visit walk rate.
  • Pet Sitting Services (Peak Time) –  cancellations made with less than 3 weeks notice of your first day of service will result in the forfeiture of your 50% deposit.  Cancellations made 48 hours or less from your first service visit will result in you being billed for 100% of the total invoice with the exceptions of severe weather, life threatening emergencies, or a death in the family.  No refunds or credits will be given to late departures or early returns.

Non “Peak Time” Service Cancellation Guidelines:

  • Midday Dog Walkscancellations must be made by email or phone call no later than 9:00pm the evening before the midday service you need to cancel or you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the visit walk rate. Walks that are cancelled the day of services after 8am will be charged 100% of the visit walk rate.


  • Pet Sitting Services cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your first scheduled visit or you will be charged 50% of the total balance.  The only exceptions, severe weather, life threatening emergencies or a death in the family.  Please note:  No refunds or credits will be given to late departures or early returns.

Inclement Weather  

In the case of inclement weather (snow, hurricanes, severe storms) PETacular Pet Services, LLC requires 2 emergency contact numbers of people who live close to you (walking distance) should roads become impassable.   If we are physically unable to drive to your home, we will contact this person and request assistance for your pet(s) care.  As your fur-baby(s) general wellbeing is of great importance to us we will also contact you directly (call, text or email) to keep you updated on these events.  In the event that the client does not provide PETacular Pet Services with a nearby emergency contact with access to your home, then the client understands that we will provide service when conditions allow us to reach your home safely. 

Please Note:   

If the Federal government is closed - all regular dog walking visits will be canceled.

If schools are closed - we will assess road conditions on a day by day basis to determine if roads are safe to travel on as it is our intent to provide our daily midday walks. However, if roads are treacherous or you live in a location where we can not safely reach your home due to poor road conditions then service will not be provided and an emergency contact, (if provided) as well as the client will be contacted by email.  If you do not need service, please let us know if possible by 9pm the night before per our cancellation policy or in this instance NLT 8am if schools close the day of your walk.  Further, due to weather circumstances beyond our control, service schedules may be altered (visits may be shortened) or, interrupted, due to deteriorating conditions. Every effort will be made to drive to your home. If the travel is deemed very difficult due to weather, a $5 fee will be added.

 Referral Incentives

  We appreciate and welcome all referrals from our clients.  There is no greater compliment then referring us to your family, friends and neighbors.  To show our gratitude we will offer you a $10 credit on a future service for any booking.
